Our first project
GreenH2Wave Project: Harnessing the Power of Ocean Waves for Green Hydrogen Production
As part of the "GreenH2Wave" project, funded by the European Union through the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) under the Women TechEU programme, Frenesim Das Ondas LDA (Wave To Energy™) has successfully developed and tested an innovative design of Floating dual-chamber Oscillating Water Column (FOWC) Wave Energy Converter. This advanced technology has demonstrated remarkable efficiency, achieving up to 93% in regular waves and 81% in random waves, making it a highly promising solution for sustainable and efficient wave energy conversion. Our rigorous experimental tests, conducted in Spain, have validated the substantial improvements in hydrodynamic performance, underscoring the potential of this system for practical applications in producing Green Hydrogen.
The "GreenH2Wave" project involved a series of meticulously planned tasks, including design optimization and comprehensive laboratory testing, all completed successfully. These efforts resulted in a novel device that introduces dual resonance periods, boosting energy capture across a wide range of sea states, and positioning it as a frontrunner in the next generation of Wave Energy Converters. Our CEO’s participation in business acceleration services further strengthened our strategic market positioning and enhanced our leadership in the wave energy sector.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the European Union for its invaluable support through the Women TechEU programme, which made this groundbreaking project possible. The "GreenH2Wave" project represents a significant step forward in our mission to harness ocean waves for sustainable energy production, contributing to the global transition towards Green Hydrogen. We invite you to watch the following short video showcasing the experimental tests conducted in Spain, highlighting the remarkable capabilities of our innovative technology.
